Dental Implants

What Is A Dental Implant?

If you are missing a tooth due to injury or disease. You may be a candidate for a dental implant.

Replacing a missing tooth is crucial not only for cosmetic reasons but also to keep your teeth from shifting and altering your bite.

An implant is a prosthetic tooth root that is placed into your jawbone. Once healed and fused to the bone, they become the foundation of a replacement tooth.

Dental implants are one of the most rapidly advancing fields in dentistry. What once was a fairly complicated undertaking is now becoming fairly routine with many general dentists placing then in the office with a local anesthetic.  Implants can also be used to stabilize loose-fitting dentures and in some cases, an individual can have their entire dentition replaced with dental implants.
