After Your Child's Tooth Extraction
Thank you for trusting us with your child’s care! We take a gentle, holistic approach to extractions — cleaning the area thoroughly and using ozone water to support healing. Please follow these instructions to keep your child comfortable and safe after their visit.
What to Expect
-
Some bleeding or pink saliva is normal for the first 24 hours.
-
Mild swelling or tenderness is expected and should improve within a couple of days.
-
Your child may feel tired after the appointment — rest is best.
Caring for the Extraction Site
-
Have your child bite gently on gauze for 30–45 minutes to control bleeding. Replace if needed.
-
Avoid spitting, drinking through a straw, or rinsing forcefully for the first 24 hours.
-
Soft foods only until the numbness wears off (applesauce, yogurt, smoothies, scrambled eggs, soup). Avoid crunchy, spicy, or chewy foods.
-
Supervise closely while your child is numb so they don’t bite their cheek, lips, or tongue.
Comfort & Natural Healing
-
Arnica (pellets or topical) may help with soreness and swelling.
-
Warm saltwater rinses can be used after the first 24 hours if your child is old enough to rinse and spit.
-
A cool washcloth or ice pack on the cheek can reduce swelling during the first 24 hours.
-
Encourage plenty of water, whole-food meals, and rest for the best healing.
